Basic First Aid
Our basic first aid course covers injuries or illnesses with a strong focus on secondary assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice. A strong focus is put in documenting any incident, taking vital signs and monitoring them.

• Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures
Course Outline
1. Patient Assessment
2. Focused History
3. Patient Exam
4. Vital Signs (including blood pressure, temperature,
level of consciousness and respiratory rate)
5. Shock prevention and treatment
6. Head injuries diagnostic and management
7. Heat illness diagnostic and treatment
8. Fractures and splinting
9. Spinal Cord injury
10. Documentation
Practical
Students will be taught with hands on mock injury scenarios how to splint fractures, stop bleeding and do patient assessments. Each student is put in the position of the first responder and required to do patient assessments and document all findings on a specific note.
Duration: 8hrs (1 day)
Who is this for? Site foremen, site safety officers, security guard and anyone who might be faced with an injured person on the site, in an office or at home.
